The Grinds
Extremely fine point on the normal side and reverse to a Medium point on the reverse. Reverse side is slightly brush-like.
Very fine point on the normal writing side and reverses to an Architect. Typically need a Broad to create this grind.
Can be used for any variety of writing, but is the perfect nib for block lettering. Thin on the down stroke and wide on the side stroke.
A smoother version of the formal italic. Suitable for everyday use and notetaking. Oblique versions of this nib could be created as well.
Nib Grinder's "special" version of the standard CI. This nib grind still provides nice line variation will providing a smoother writing experience in a larger variety of writing positions/angles.
Formal italic, also known as a crisp italic will have sharp edges. Provides maximum horizontal to vertical line variation. Unless you are familiar with this type of nib it is probably best to try one before ordering one. It is also helpful if you have a "light" hand.
The ultimate in a usable xtra xtra fine. Depending on the tipping material a result of around .2mm or finer is usually achieved.
Allows for a super smooth writing experience with slightly less line variation of the cursive italic. Possibly beneficial to those that "push" their pen across the page.

The stub is generally a more forgiving version of the italic. It has a larger radius making contact to the page. This will attribute to slightly less line variation.
Shaped like the curved edge of a knife/blade. These can vary from the XXF version known as the Blade Turk to broader versions similar to Sailor’s Naginata Togi.
